Don has now retired as a working smith but is still available for consultation or design work and also project management. He can also be called upon to act as an expert witness when required. He has returned to his home town of Scarborough where he now lives with his wife Barbara.
Some of his final commissions include the new Weighing-In Room at York Racecourse and the new entrance gates commemorating the life of Henry Cecil. He also produced four bronze five feet high lanterns for the new monument to the Queen Mother in The Mall as well as over seventy feet of bronze handrails.
